Through our sister brands, Trainers Warehouse and Office Oxygen, we’ve been selling fidget toys to reduce stress, energize learning and occupy idle fingers since 1998, when friend and trainer Sharon Bowman tipped us off to the fact that kinesthetic people seem to learn more when they’re doing something with their hands. To this day, we continue to call our fidget toys “Fiddles,” paying tribute to my great uncle Diddle (Isadore) Doctoroff who passed away in 1999 at the age of 94.
We’ve made a variety of fidget toys available to adults, children—both with and without special learning requirements—and to teachers, team leaders and executives. We’ve also developed some of our own fidget creations, including “Loopeez,” “Gyrobi,” and “SwingOs.” Our goal is to provide captivating and well-made fidget toys that not only keep hands busy but also allow the brain to focus on the task at hand, without added distraction. With the explosion in popularity of fidget toys, thanks to the “Fidget Spinner” and “Fidget Cube,” we’ve been happy to launch fidgets.com, where we curate all the research and learning about fidgeting and doodling, and direct you to great resources to find and purchase fidget toys.
I’m the author of this blog and the President of Trainers Warehouse, a company my father started late in his career, and now Office Oxygen as well. My goal in leading this organization is to do whatever I can to provide customers with great products that will make the experience of growing and learning more fun and effective–whether you’re at school, in a training seminar, at work, or at home.
Prior to joining my dad in 1997, I spent several years as a trainer and consultant in the field of negotiation and another couple with a business history consulting company. I got my BA from Yale and my business degree from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University. My now well-known secret is that I performed as a clown for Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus.
Over the years, I’ve written articles for the Sloan Management Review, Pfeiffer Training Annual, eLearn Magazine, Smart Meetings, and Training Magazine.
